Straw yellow color with greenish reflections, the nose is immediately overwhelmed by an explosion of scents: yellow fruit, pepper, melon, peach. On the palate these fresh fruity notes are reconfirmed but we also discover a good minerality.
The acidity, always present, is never invasive but binds the whole giving it the typical freshness and vivacity of the Sauvignon grape. The aftertaste amazes for almost unexpected softness and creaminess for a wine of this kind.

The whole berries are pressed gently in a pneumatic press. After a first racking, the must is transferred to temperature-controlled fermentation still vats. The wine stayed on the lees for all of its life before bottling.
Bouquet is very pleasant with a good array of varietal aromas such as pear Williams, banana, apricot and Acacia flowers. Taste is reminiscent of pear syrup and quince peel. Good acid balance good body and long finish. Mature wines have a bouquet of toasted almonds and straw.

Elio Sandri Perno Barolo
Dark and earthy with a lot of tertiary aromas. Cherries, rosehip, dried roses, balsamic, leather, menthol and damp soil. Deep and refined, not so much about the fruit. Impressively ripe tannins, proper grip and bite but not disturbing at all despite its youth. The acidity is there for aging as well so this wine will live and develop for a long time. Long finish with a distinct note of menthol that brings a wonderful freshness to the wine. Continues in a non-fruity way and finishes off with moist leaves, balsamic and figs. This is powerful stuff with depth and complexity.

Elio Sandri Perno Riserva Barolo
This 100% Nebbiolo Barolo Riserva is planted mid-slope (like Burgundy’s Grand Cru vineyards) in the Barolo Zone on a southwest- facing parcel of the Perno Hill, but is otherwise farmed the same as the Barolo but with older vines and lower yields. Fermented whole- cluster in ancient Botte wood casks, and then aged 4 years in smaller Botte, the Riserva always shows more length, especially obvious in the peacock-tail of an expansive, colorful finish. It also carries greater aging potential with a deeper structure.

one year.
While it is produced to be consumed before or after dinner, Marsala is frequently used in cooking and is especially prevalent in many Italian restaurants. One of the most popular Marsala recipes is Chicken Marsala. It is also used in the preparation of some risotto dishes as well as some Italian dessert recipes.

Lazzaroni Ferro China
What is Ferro-China… An Italian tonic first made famous in the last decades of the 1800s by a Pharmacist from Milan named Bisleri and a Doctor from Rome named Baliva. Both men combined the pharmaceutical remedies of the bark of china (chinchona, used to make quinine) and iron citrate, an iron based salt, made from citric acid and iron sulfate, into a drinkable therapeutic, bitter tonic. Ferro-China is part of the Italian Amaro category, but lighter in color, body and alcohol than most other digestive, Amaro drinks.
Ferro-China also enjoyed an export boom to the US market during Prohibition. It was considered a pharmaceutical product and could be prescribed by Doctors. In Italy, a teaspoon a day was given by mothers to their children at that time to aid their growth.
Lazzaroni first started the production of Ferro-China in the late 1800s but discontinued production about 30 years ago. The family recipe was recreated this year.
Today, Lazzaroni Ferro-China joins Lazzaroni Fernet and Lazzaroni Amaro in the portfolio. Claims are no longer made for any medical or growth benefits, and a prescription is no longer need to obtain historic Lazzaroni Ferro-China.
With a herbal mocha coffee, and roasted chestnut aroma and a hint of vanilla with delicate spice overtone, this liqueur is traditionally enjoyed over ice as an aperitif, as a digestif after dinner and as a modifier in cocktails.
